Here's the evidence. Cajun caused the midair because he wouldn't get out of Bob's way!

Actually, I did cut the streamer! There were a couple of close passes where my sphincter tightened up quite a bit. Then on one pass, Lee started a left turn when he was leading and to my right. Mike had the camera pointed to the right and we could see the streamer fluttering off my right wing, then ...

I just can't resist. I put some of the better flight shots of the top secret plane in one file. It's 4 minutes long, but it's about 16MB. The compressed file isn't as clear as the DVD version, but it get's the point across.

We've been doing some final testing with the camship this weekend. We shot about an hours worth of video pointing the camera at several different types of targets. Here's a few of the shots. Knife had a new top secret 2548 ship out for test flights and we gave chase. I think it's ready for Paris. No...

Well, here at the Skunkworks unit of Velcro Video Productions, LLC, we've been elbows and a$$holes getting a flying Combat Camship in the air in time for Paris. I think we have a solution. Dang, this thing is turning out to be as complicated as a Space Shuttle. It was just supposed to be able to car...

I've re-configured the Camship as a pusher using a SuperTigre .90 engine which Scott Gilkey was kind enough to donate. I ran the engine today with a 15X6 pusher prop which has been cut down to a 14X6. It's turning right at 10,000 rpm and feels like it should have plenty of thrust. http://www.laboyte...

Yep, the propane torch did the trick. Using the ASP 1.08 with a 15X6 prop is going to have ground clearance issues. If I use the SuperTigre .90 with a 14X6 it would be better. So, the SuperTigre it is! The local hobby shop happened to have some 15X6 pusher props in stock so I had already bought a co...

Yeah, Boca had the bearings and they got here in 2 days. I'm gonna try the torch method this evening and see if it works. Scott Gilkey was kind enough to send me not one, BUT TWO MOTORS! He also sent an ASP 1.08 engine that's in good condition. Hey, MORE HORSEPOWER!!!!! I think I may try running it ...

Mike took the video back to Houston with him and edited it using Idvd on his Mac. He sent me a DVD of the final edit. The DVD looks great, but since he had the source files, I had to convert the DVD to an MPG file. Then I just used Windows Movie Maker to compress it into the two versions as a .wmv f...

Camship Video Project
Mike Willcox and I are teaming up to see if we can film rc combat from the air. We were sitting around enjoying ice cold carbonated beverages and thought....."what if we could video combat from the air?". It was a unanimous decision that this was something we had to do. Version 1 was to bu...

Thanks Kelvin, the Saito would be cool, but a little overboard. This was supposed to be a simple, cheap project, but it's turning into a very complex piece of equipment. So far, I've built a 2 axis gimble for the video camera with a 1.2 GHZ video downlink so we can rotate and tilt the camera with a ...
