Re: Texoma Summer Combat II

I truly didn't mean to raise any hackles but the only place I know of where the Limitied B rules are posted, because it's still provisional, is this site. I'm all for SSC birds flying in Limited B but the rules posted here SHOULD be the most current. How else are we to know? If raising the rpm to 18...

Re: Texoma Summer Combat II

Good contest David. Thanks Congrats to David Ebers for his win with steady scoring throughout the day and Court for taking 2nd place. The discussion on Limited B had me reread the rules last night. With the wind we normally get here in TX, I think it would be a good class to explore. Looks like a tw...

Re: Texoma summer combat

Thanks David and Bruce for all those little things you do for our group to make it happen. A nasty hit early in the first round had me pondering if this was my day to be the bug but flew the rest of the rounds with the same bird... and it flew pretty good considering I'd thrown the motor together fr...

Re: WAMS Spring SLAM

Thanks Gary and the WAMS club for the fun day of combat. Good call on your part to rotate the lines, that wind was a little pesky at times. And it's true, Dane gave us all a real lesson in Streamer Collecting yesterday. Congrats Dane.

Re: Lone Star Nats 2013

Sorry you won't make it but we'll hold your pit spot on the north end open just in case. Hope not but maybe it'll be 40deg and 30kt winds from the north and you can pat yourself on the back for staying home

Re: Lone Star Nats 2013

My fleets ready..(at least until next weekend when all the gremlins strike). A couple more wings in the house waiting for a test hoping I'll have enough airframes and won't to scramble. Staying out of Bruce's way would help too :P http://www.rccombat.net/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&am...

Re: Aileron hinging

I am/was of the belief that too floppy of hinges contributed to flutter. Early in 2012 I hinged several wings with milk jug plastic (just a rectangle shape installed in slots in the TE and aileron, pinned in with wd40 spray tube). Ailerons worked great until they took a hit and the repair was a nigh...

Re: Aileron hinging

I also use over/under but with 4 sets/aileron (3/4" wide). Aileron is cut/sanded so the contact surface is in the middle of the TE instead of the top. Tape hinges are applied to the top and bottom of the wing with the sticky ending on the mid point. Also installed is a piece of milk jug (3/4&qu...

Thanks Texoma RC for hosting many combat events this year and Bruce, David, Kevin, and Jerry for making them happen.
