Re: Combat in Cinci

Should be ready by this weekend, so you guys can tear them up. Used up the last of my stock of hat trick avenger wing cores, will need to get some mo...

Re: Combat in Cinci
Thanks bob, but first place credit for last years terror evevt deservedly goes to William Drumm, who won by a mere 700 points or so. But, I did get second place, and will be there this year to defend my silver medal. It looks like we are going to have some perfect combat weather, and I hope you can ...

09/23/12 Airmasters Field, Cincinnati, Ohio. After a drought of more than 5 years, streamers were flying at an official RCCA event in Cincinnati! The weather was absolutely perfect, and so was the field. A special call out goes to Mike Edwards who made it happen, and all the local club members who h...

Re: Combat is back in Cinci
OK combat junkies, this may be the first time y'all get a chance to cut my streamers in a while, but they won't come easy. I got some new magnums turning just over 15.5k and my wings are all less than 4 years old. heck, I think my planes are even under 3.5 lbs this time, so this is going to be a wal...

Oh that's just wonderful Bob. How come you didn't have hardware to 4th place last year?

Re: Spring Street Brawl
I use mineral spirits. It's a mixture of hydrocarbon monomers. The sticky stuff is chemically similar, a hydrocarbon polymer. The old saying is 'likes dissolve likes'. Plus it's the cheapest stuff at lowes. You can use a little to treat the spot on your clothes. Try to get most of it out by hand, th...

Re: NEW Flight Box - Finally Finished!!!
Great job William. I'm really glad to see u spend quality time in the wood shop. It means less time you are spending on building planes, giving the rest of us a needed advantage. Have you ever thought about getting Into furniture building?

Re: Battle for Bean Town
Bob- thanks for hosting such a great meet. It was great to compete and reconnect with everyone on the combat circuit. I forgot how fun this really is. Nice to meet a great bunch of new pilots as well. I really had a great time! I flew 7 rounds with the same plane, and had to retire it only bc it got...

Re: Scale Combat in Ohio plus more
WOW- I see 11 states are now represented! Looks like a great opportunity for bragging rights. I'm sure Bob will do well to represent Ohio and keep the hardware local. But seeing how he is also running the contest and all, I will step up and try to give him and the state of Ohio a fair shake against ...

Re: best 2.4 Ghz technology/products
thanks- I think the Hitec system is probably a great radio. But, I'd go broke buying receivers for combat, so scratch that one. Futaba probably is another great radio- But, I'd go broke buying receivers for combat, so scratch that one. I love the XPS concept, but there is no certainty in a product t...

Any thoughts on the Hitec Aurora 9 radio? Will this one work with the $8 recievers?

Re: best 2.4 Ghz technology/products
Mark, what were the issues with your JR378? If they would be solved with a module you could add one for $109 with one Spektrum AR7100 receiver (which is what I did for my 9303). Works fine with the orange Rx. The 378 'blacks-out' at various times during flight. It lasts a few seconds, just long eno...

Re: best 2.4 Ghz technology/products
Wow- i's in a perdickermint....... The XPS sounds almost too good to be true! I'm not in love with JR after having unresolved problems with an expensive model 378 JR radio, but the Spektrum DX7 looks like it might work, and whats not to LOVE about $8 recievers!!! Do you think these $8 receivers woul...

I'm looking to get a new transmitter, and want to learn what is the best one out there for combat planes. Need to take into account the needs for high model memory and cheap recievers to outfit the entire fleet. I am looking at the spectrum series, maybe a 6 or 7 channel model. Would like to hear op...
