I take that back. I still have the fuselage but turned the wing into a 3696 wing for a D0-335.

Kirk,

I have a 2548 Hellcat fuselage and wing already shaped but that was as far as I got. No intentions of finishing it as Walker and I have swapped over to 3696 electric. Any intrest?

I think we need to create a shopping list of motor a + esc b + etc, etc, etc + foam = combat plane. Print it out and take it to your next meeting along with one of the 3696 that you have built so far and you will see alot more newbees jumping onboard.

The wing is a "thin" for scale to conform with the rules. Yeah, the launch should be interesting but I am still puzzling how to fit a streamer on the thing! Another issue is that the rear engine is buried right in the middle of the horizontal stab and will make a torque tube for the elevat...

Cut all the parts out for the Do-335. Wing area comes to 347 (my wife is a math teacher, she figured it out). Wingspan 44 1/4. Lenght 43 3/4. This is a LARGE airplane.

I have a question on another oddity that I would like to build. Would the DO-335 (a twin in a push/pull configuration) be built with the twin engine wingspan (45")? I have built several plastic models of this plane and have always thought it a neat design.

On the A123 batteries, above, it says that you need a different charger but in Lee's post it states there is an adapter out there for $40 to be able to use a Lipo charger.

A) What charger would be good to charge the 123s?
B) Where can we get the adapter to enable to use a Lipo charger?

I have also used the Krylon H2O, a water based spray paint on the bare foam, and then covered with packing tape. The finish is kinda glossy because of the "glare" off of the tape, but is certainly durable. I then use Monokote for markings and whatnot over the tape. Still working on picture...

Whewwww. Get frostbite first, then cut into that finger with a prop. At least it will not hurt until it thaws...... I did the same tail heavy gig with my P-47. Went out about a hundred feet then came down like a pogo stick on the tail. Moved the battery forward and all was well after that. (That and...

I like the sandpaper on the 2x4s.

I have found that the quickest way to get the rough shape formed is to use an auto body "cheese grater". They use them to rough cut bondo after letting it dry. They are about 5$ at Pep Boys or similar stores.
