The reason you won't see Mega motor is the price limit in SSC. No Megas are under the limit.

I am using the Scorpians. I use the 30-14 with a 6 turn wind. A $25 ESC from BP hobbies and 4 cell A123. This will turn the 8X3 right at 17500 for about 5.5 minutes.
