2548 Spitfire

I know Petr Bachan has done a 2548 Spit but I was wondering if anyone else has and if so could they supply some building detail? I need a step-by-step how to for the elliptical wing foam cutting. The workshop section is not available to me as a non-rcca member so I can't get to Petr's document. Woul...

I had the IMMENSE pleasure of flying choppers 2548 P51 and I have to say it was a delight. AUW is 5 pounds, power by LA.25 and swinging a 9 x 4 tornado nylon prop. With such a high wing load, lowere revs and flexible prop combo, we get great scale flying characteristics coupled with good climb perfo...

I think the silicon would lift off when oil soaks under it... might be good for electrics though.

I use Bluebird BMS-380mg mini's. Good quality servo at bargain basement price. Weighs .46oz and pulls 35oz/in. Suufered sevral wing to wing midairs and a couple of direct hits on the servo box with no damage. I get them for $38AUD which means you guys should be able to get them for about $30.

Received my copy last week and I have to say that it is some of the most stunning video footage of combat I have EVER seen! The video is a first rate production! If you haven't got a copy go buy one because it will be the best money you could ever spend on a DVD.

You guys rock!

Combat Smack-Down - West Aussie style!

From Keith "Chopper" Willett: SSC State Combat Trial Event 16th July 2005 Well after such a action packed day it's hard to decide where to begin. So I guess I'll start at the beginning. SSC combat held it's first state trial event today at the Wanneroo field and eleven brave pilots showed ...

I think my ol' buddy chopper is going to use the two-rail technique on that P51. I am going to use the HDPE mount and arrow shaft method when I start my P40.

2548 underway in Western Australia..

http://combat.kwiz.biz/viewtopic.php?t=45

We have started on our way toward a 2548 scale class down here. At this stage due to low numbers this will probably be just for demo's at displays and after regular SSC rounds.

Any hints/suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks Thojo! I was a bit concerned that there had been a shift in philosophy and nobody had said anything.

Can't wait to get started on a foamie 2548.

Composite fuselages and 2548 performance data

We are considering getting a 2548 class going down here and as such I have a few questions regarding survivability and performance. Some of the 2548's use fibreglass/composite fuselage construction. How well do they survive a midair? Are they easily repairable or is it a chuck away and build again t...

What to do with that retired combat model...

One of our regular members moved on to a new SSC model and decided to turn his Bandito in to a slope soarer. Here is the result..... http://home.iprimus.com.au/latto/slope%20bandito.jpg He extended the nose with a couple of bits of ply bolted together through the fuselage and balanced it with a bit ...
