I had eyeballed the 3615/2100 eons ago, and the documentation indicated it might not handle more than 300 watts. I guess it was under-estimated a little. Hopefully the magnets are a little more robust than on the 2825-2300. One good thing about the magnets is that they can take brutal heat. On a meg...

I have so far had good experiences with the Polks Seeker receiver. I wonder if maybe problems were experienced when the receiver might have been flown in dewey conditions where the rcvr got damp upon landing. I have had ESC's that have major problems when they get wet. I did fly in California in Feb...

I have used the seeker rx's at two events this year. So far they are bullet proof. The only thing I don't like is that I use them on electrics as well as IC, and have a JR radio where channel one is not the aileron channel. Its no problem with IC since the throttle is on channel one, and I just watc...

I have only dirtnapped one, and I have not tested it since the crash. The only problem I had was with the mesh being a little too tight initially , and it took every tooth off the spur gear. Whenever I get around to swapping boxes, I will let you know.

The mega was 3 lbs, and the brushed was 3 lbs 3 oz. Both in 72" SSC avengers.

I flew electrics at the Turn n' Burn event in Ozark MO this weekend. This was an SSC event with a waiver to allow electrics. One was the Mega 22/10/10 which I also flew in Iowa, and the other was the Endoplasma with a gd600 gearbox and the pinion gear swapped with a 24 tooth car gear to give it a ra...

The Turn n' Burn event in Ozark MO was a blast. Me and Lamb Chop rolled in around 8:30, and there were already several flyers getting their stuff together. A wide range of ships were flown. Lamb Chop flew SSC Avengers (the old version) fitted with electric motors instead of .15's. One was running th...

I was wondering if you were one of those sissy, sort-of-girly man folk from southern Missouri! Me and Lamb Chop will try to give it a good test Saturday. I have experimented with sign vinyl on wings, and it is easy to apply, but was not as tear resistant as ripstop nylon. This was in open 'b' though...

The deans 4 pin are great for small brushless to esc connectors. You can try them with all four pins connected as polarized and if the motor turns backwards, you can just plug three of the pins together backwards, and the motor will run forwards. They work great. The gold pins roy showed are great, ...

Avoid Tamaya. They expand over time and the connection gets bad. If your intended use will always be under 5 amps, the jst should be OK. The deans mini are good, but I can't remember the max amp draw. I use them for my esc to motor connectors in 10 amp applications with zero problems. The deans ultr...

Wow. Lots of research and work would be required to find a suitable motor. It sounds like a good idea, but what happens when a new idea emerges and we have the equivalent of CD motors for 1/2 the price? I don't want to squelch the ideas, thats just my thought. I think a spec class is great, but with...

Looks like you guys had just about as much fun as me and LambChop had at Palomar. The Mako looked interesting at the area 52 skunkwerks, but since I'm from Missouri you had better show me. It looks like I have been shown!!

You are right Jay, except for the weight. To get 300 watts out of the himaxx 2825-2300, I had a power system weight of 12 oz. The mega 16/15/4 and 1700 mah 3s lipos would come in around 7 oz. Thats not bad. I think the electric will still be heavier, but there are other places to save weight when yo...

Actually, they are very exceedable with 1/2 way expensive setups. The mega 16/15/4 on 3s lipos should turn over 20k static with 3s 1500 lipos. This is what I am looking for in e-combat. Some performance without breaking the bank. The megas are about $100, but with a 5mm shaft, and running direct dri...

Which prop are you using in flight? This is very good info. I am more interested in electrics, but these props and rpm's are doable with cheap setups. Thanks for the info.
