I took the F-22 from this site and scaled it a little and am building it. The tabs are kind of a pain if you have to cut all the pieces out yourself! www.6mmflyrc.com has all of the planes from this site as kits. You can also look over at RCGroups in the "Pusher Prop Jet Models" forum for ...

I love parkjets, so this is just too cool!

I am awaiting announcements of the plans so I can figure out which plane to rob a BP21 from!

You will get the 60hz reading on a flourescent or incandescent bulb. It's how I check to see that the batteries are still good in my tach. :)

All I have are the old MA's.

I haven't decided how to mount it yet. The plane is currently set up to mount the motor behind the firewall. So I would need some kind of adapter to mount the prop on the shaft.

RPM/Amp measurements for the Turnigy 35-30B 1400kv motor. 9000 RPM, 13-14A. Looks like a winner! Can't wait to get it mounted in the Yak-9 and see how it does! This is really a nicely made motor that looks very sturdy. From looks alone it inspires a lot more confidence in its durability than the KDA...

Another possible candidate: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2141&Product_Name=TR_35-30B_1400kv_Brushless_Outrunner_(Eq_AXi_2808 They didn't have exactly the one I wanted when I made the order so I took a chance on this one. Bench tested it tonight and got 2 lbs...

Good news! I have a new motor for my 3696 finally! Bad news, I will be out of town that weekend. :(

Oh well, maybe for the next one. I should have at least an SSC plane ready for the next event as well. Maybe even an Open B??

For that matter, why so much pitch on the props? What about a 10x4 at 9000 RPM or so. Everyone seems to be fixated on a ?x6 prop. Would probably provide significant additional thrust and a slower speed and be usable on the motors everyone already has. I agree that slowing the planes down a little wo...

I think it is fine as is. The only thing I might change is prop selection. There are E props that are designed to work well at this RPM, probably much more efficiently than the MAS 9x6. But I do like the idea that everyone uses the same prop, no exceptions. Airframe size and weight seem very good. A...

Frank,
The really good thing is you will have plenty of willing test pilots given our large Open B and SSC contingent here locally! Plus, of course, your two family hot-shots who seem to make a habit of making us old guys look bad!

Frank,
I usually buy Coroplast at Regal Plastics on Sante Fe Drive. IIRC a 4x8 sheet of 4mm was around 8 bucks. They had a variety of colors, but they do also have a $25 or $30 min order.

JJ, My coro/foam fuse has already proven its durability. In test flights (while fighting with the motor it used to have) I had several pretty rough landings on the nose section and it has held up very well. Way better than the blue foam fuse I started with (which did have a plywood crutch extending ...

Cash, Hope the HXT35-36C works for you. I've all but given up on the A22-20L I got from UH. It would probably be a fine motor for normal purposes, but isn't durable enough for combat use. I have now re-glued the armature assembly (see previous posts) into the backplate at least 6 times and don't int...
