Re: so whats up with Texas Combat?

Hey guys, I`m planning to be there for SSC and B, barring any unforseen problems (believe me, I`ve had a few of those lately) I`m working on a "new" design. It`s basicly an instant combat plane. A 64" Falcon built with some old school SPAD technology from the last century. I`ll probab...

Re: 3696 Current Motors and Battery Recomendations

I`m not sure about the X mount hole spacing. I know they are close, but not sure if they are exact. If I can find an old mount from a 2908 I`l check it for you.

Re: 3696 Current Motors and Battery Recomendations

Nate, I would recomend the Turnigy SK 3530-1100 motor about $20 and Zippy Flight Max 3s 2200 20c lipos on sale now for $7 each. Yep, that`s right $6.99 per battery. Then, if you want to fly SSC, use the same motor with two of the batteries as a 6s 2200, run by a good 40a or higher esc. You can get a...

Re: Wiring adapter for lipos

I know this might seem like a simple question but can someone share their method for making a wiring harness to connect two 3S lipos together on a e-falcon using dean connectors? Do you mean in order to hook them up in series or parallel? These aren`t dean`s, but it should help. This hooks them up ...

Re: Texoma Nationals

Hey guys. I plan to be there for SSC and B but probably won`t spend the night unless I can get everything ready by Fri night. I`ve got a cold this weekend that is cutting into my building time pretty badly. I`ll be there though, even if I only have a couple of planes for each event. I`ve got a new O...

Re: The

You must have been nose heavy, because a Cobra will cut it`s own streamer if you want it to. They are basically a flying wing so the CG is very important. A conventional design has a much broader range of usable CG placement. The Cobra does take some getting use to to find out what you like for your...

Roy Appleton`s SSC Video

This is a canded video that Roy took at the Richardson Spring meet. It gives a great view of an SSC heat from the Pilot/Judge perspective. It`s also intresting because there are 4 electric and 3 IC powered planes in this heat. You`ll be very hard pressed to tell which are which. This was tucked away...

Re: Richardson Spring Combat

Roy, that video was a blast to watch. Thanks for posting that. Next time you need to have the camera mounted to your helmet so that you can record "your" plane flying combat. That`s the only improvement that I can think of.

Re: Max wind for ssc

We fly in that kind of wind all of the time. As long as it`s not more than about a 45 degree tail wind it shouldn`t be an issue. I think that the AMA rule book give weather conditions that warrant cancelling or stopping a contest. I think it says 35mph, but you`d have to check, and ultimately I thin...

Sorry about the weather Gary. I checked the radar early this morning and decided to not make the drive down. See ya next month.
