FAA number on your plane

Post by boiler »

While at the Toledo show one of our members that lives in Canada said his request for a FAA registration number was rejected. I talked to the FAA who had a booth at the show this year and they said any pilot in that position can fly at your event if the CD gives the pilot a copy of his number to put in/on his plane. As far as checking to see if all pilots at your field or meet have a FAA number the AMA does NOT want you to police it. It is not your job! As far as notifying airports within in five miles. If your field is located there, they are already aware of you. If you want to put in a filed, you don't have to apply for permission, you just need to tell them you will be flying models and the location of the field. Some clubs have their field at an airport.
