Anyone know the gullwing angles of the corsair?

If it flew combat between 1935 and 1955, here's the place to talk about it!
Also a great place to talk about Competition!

Anyone know the gullwing angles of the corsair?

Post by NAES »

Looked around online and came up with little so I'm hoping some of you might help me out.

The only one I got was the outer wing panels which are 8.5 degrees.

Thanks, NAES

NAES,
I don't know the angles, but this should help:

This is the F4U-1, but the wing angles were the same for all Corsairs. I also have 3 views with the F4U-1A, F4U-1D and F4U-4. If you need them, drop me a line at demonrcca@hotmail.com .

Sean, if I dig around, I think I have the Corsair CNC ready! C'mon down and help, we'll make some Corsairs! Remember, I have that stash of 4" foam for the fuses etc.. Either way, with Dmon 3 view I can...well you know.

I have those 4 pica fuses all up and done so I just need the wings cut for 2548 size. They are big birds and should look great when finished.

If we can CNC cut them Terry maybe we can incorporate a soft LE on the outer panels. We'll see if I can get away this weekend and if your free.

I scaled the Corsair drawings from the russian website to 48" for 2548 and measured the angles. I built it with 24 degrees down for the inboard section and 8 degrees dihedral in the outer panels.
