Jetero Joust, Houston Texas... Sept 20 & 21, 2014

Post by Dane McGee »

Pat Willcox and the Jetero Club will be hosting a RCCA Combat event at the beautiful Jetero Field in Houston Texas. Jetero is the site of many epic RCCA Combat battles in the past and its good to see the combat spark is still alive in Houston.

Jetero had a very, very strong group of combat flyers at one time and the locals flew weekly combat very similar to our limited B ..... guys like Pat and Mike Willcox, Joe Thompson, Bert and Randy Dodson to name a few.

It seems the club members want to see RCCA Combat again in all its glory return to Jetero and we have the opportunity to make a good impression for the RCCA and RC Combat in general.
Lets get onboard and plan on supporting Pat and help get RC Combat going strong again in Houston, Texas

Post up and lets see how many we can get to Jetero!

Classes will be SSC, Limited B and Scale 2948

Alright, I'm in ......who's with me! :D

I have already Sanctioned our first 3 events this year.

How about Saturday September 20th? go to Houston instead of a meet at Texoma?

We have SSC and open B scheduled that day. Open to swaping or changing if needed.

I would support a 1PM start on day one, and 9AM for day two.

Sounds good.

Pat said he likes that date. The Jetero Club will be meeting this Thursday Jan 30, 2014 and will determine if the weekend of Sept 20, 2014 is suitable for them as a whole.

Combat an hour and half from my door? 15 minutes from my brothers door? I'm not sure I'll be able to fly without a 4 hour drive but count me in!!

Is September 20-21 the dates for thieis event? I see that Sherman has canceled theirs on the same date but has yet to be replaced by a Jetero event on the contest calender.

23,190 minutes till start engines. Anybody excited? Any newbies or former combat pilots in the Houston area gonna make it to this event? I hope so! Be a shame if I have to whoop up on the same tired, smelly, ugly, sorry excuses for combat pilots from North Texas and Round Rock again.

I have no recommendations for hotels. I would look for one in Humble, Porter or New Caney.

There are 3 hotels in Dayton. That is the closest to the field.
