NATS 2010 information

Post by boiler »

Well Ed, you got your wish. No weekend for the 2010 NATS. We are scheduled for July 12-15th. The guys that didn't like the 4th weekend for the NATS should be happy as well. As last year we have scheduled the first two days Mon &Tues for the Official rule book events of SSC and Open B. The second two days are for the RCCA events of 2548 and Limited B. If you want special NATS shirts with a special image, you need to start working on that early. Otherwise we will just use the NATS logo on the back which won't need to be ordered and available at the Museum. They had us starting our 4 days in 2011 on the 4th of July but I managed to have it moved back a day to the 5th. If that schedule holds it will be Tuesday-Friday in 2011. The 2012 NATS looks like July 16-19th which would be Monday through Friday. Those are more standard dates when world competitions aren't messing with the schedule like last year.

Bob, what are the dates? July 12-14 is only three days, but we have four for the event, right?

Pilots that flew at last year's NATS should be getting a packet with entry forms in the next few days. I got mine today. They have a $5 discount if you enter by April 1. If you think you might go this year but did not last year, you can go online to the AMA site to get the entry forms.

They haven't got them on the site yet but should have in a few days.

Time to contact friends for a carpool road trip to the MECCA of RC Combat. Forty rounds of competition planned plus demos.

3 years without a weekend event? Doesnt bother me at all but i gotta believe it will make it tougher for some. I realize we dont really get to pick what we want but we will have to see how it goes for everyone.

Next year they wanted us to start on a Monday (the 4th of July). I managed to get them to move it to a Tuesday so we didn't have to fly on the 4th like a couple of years ago. The guys from TX asked for all weekdays if possible so they wouldn't have to take off workdays two weeks in a row. I guess it cuts both ways.

Unfortunately TEAM KAMAKAZE will be unable to attend this year's NATS. I was REALLY looking forward to going with my dad, but unfortunately I have to do that dirty four-lettered word called "WORK"
I cancelled my room tonight at Lee's Inn in Muncie so if anyone needs a room, there's one available there (765)-282-7557. I've stayed down there a few times now and they have a great continental breakfast to fill ya up for a day of chasing streamers!
I'm REALLY bummed that I can't make it because I've been having a good year so far despite only having time to fly during trim sessions or competition. I still plan on making Beaver Dam and the last Wingnut (although I won't get up to Dovre til late on Friday night after work).
My associate veterinarian quit, so it's all me until I can find a new vet to take her spot...I couldn't line up relief help to cover the days needed...unless Dr. Evil wants to work for me
I'll miss you guys down there!

P.S.--I'm sure the rest of the WISCONSIN crew down there will clean up in my absence!
