O.S La .15

Post by rdc767 »

Going through my O.S .15 La's. I noticed that the plastic is failing or crumbling. I remember a while back the fp .15 backplate would fit anybody have a source? Or a link? Also how about a link for some needle valves I could zip tie on.

Ron, you can get the backplate from Tower with or without the needle valve: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... MG0016&P=Z

Tower has the FP back plate for about $1.50. If my memory stinks, it's not much more. Go to OS and scroll through the stuff.

Ron, does this mean we might see you at Mid-American in June.

Might also consider getting new Magnum 15s They are EXTREWAMLY strong and very reliable. Not to mention cheap.

You can zip tie the LA needle valve on. I've ground mine flat and use a small tie around the needle under the spring. Shove the bitter end through a hole and tie a knot. Knock on wood....I've not lost one yet.

OS# 21181902 for 1A,15 is the needle valve I prefer if replacing.

No Sailboat but I do have a tractor. I was a brownshoe squid on Hancock and Ranger.

Ron If you are looking for a Great Needle Valve, Try the Perry Remote, Dad has been using them for quite some time and he really likes them on both his SSC's and his Open B's. I see if I can find a part number for You.

Dave,

It's the exact same engine, without the powder coating.

Some of my "blue" LA's are so old that most of the powder coating has been washed off by carb cleaner anyway. [:D]

lol...A customer of ours got one, and yeah they are exactly the same.

Looks Like OS just got tired of Blue Paint...
