Turnigy 3536-1400 Test results

Post by Ed Kettler »

I ran the following configuration on an SSC test bird, simulating a typical SSC mission profile of launch with 30 seconds to start, full power to altitude, 1/2 power until Start Combat, 5 minutes full power, then 1/2 power for 30 seconds to land.

Motor: Turnigy 3536 - 1400 KV
Prop: MAS 8x3
BEC: Turnigy Plush 40
Battery: 4S 2650 20C http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/uh ... oduct=9182

Motors were run long enough to settle down to 17500 rpm before launch.

Recharge was to 2050mah +/-50 or 77% of rated capacity. Batteries were just a few degrees over ambient (72F) even though only one narrow side of the pack was exposed to airflow. Test after recovery showed a 900-1050 rpm loss (~16,500 rpm)

I will be building more planes with this setup soon. :D

Looks good Ed! I think if you run more off the "top" of the battery before setting rpm that you`ll only see about 500 rpm drop by the end of the heat.
