I've been only combating for a season and flew only SSC. This year I am going to also fly Lim B. I fly on a tight budget and I now have 2 SSC's and 2 B's, but plan on having 3 of each for the season.

SSC 5
OpenB 3
2610 0
2548 0
LimB 5
e3696 0

Just my thoughts [8D]

So ...... how's the Midwest schedule looking?

After my first season:

SSC - 5
LIMITED B - 5
SLOW STICKS IN GYM - 5

It may just be a Midwest thing.
Don't we love it![:D]

I am getting more excited about electrics, especially since we lost our club field that was close to me, and now I have a 25 mile drive to either of the other club fields. I can fly my electrics at a nearby school or park.

If you are interested in flying Open B in North Texas, please let me know so I can look at adding that event to one or more of the events (other than LSN). We had a major drop in Open B last year, and I will not be scheduling an event unless we get some commitment for attendance.

Well, there are 7 Texas boys signed up for Open B for the LSN so far. With Evan that makes 8. I can think of 3 or 4 others that should fly Open B at LSN. Maybe we could add B to one more local contest this year, but we need to see when the most folks would show up.

Evan and Lee,

I will look to you two to do the recruiting of pilots for Open B. When you have the commitments, I will amend the sanction for the selected event. Happy to host, just need the pilots to step up.

The 07 competition combat flying looks like this for me:

SSC-5
OpenB-1
2610-1
2548-1
LimB-5
3696-1
Lim 1/2A 1

Will also fly some informal gnat combat, and some indoor electric "toilet paper" combat this winter. I'm only willing to keep up 2 classes of competition birds.

Here's my list.

LimB 5 - my favorite class for many reasons
SSC 3 - Just because its there and usually goes with b events
Open B 3 - I'll only fly open if LimB isn't available for the weekend

I'll be honest and say that I purposly limit what and how often I fly to avoid burnout. I'm having a blast right now and I want to keep it that way.

Contest flying will of course depend on how close they are...

Here's what I'm looking at this year,

SSC 1.5
OpenB 3
2610 5
2548 5
LimitB 4 (honestly most of my open B planes are better suited for Limited B)
3696 1

My master plan is to fly in the events that I have any planes ready for...purely KISS princpal. They are all a blast to fly in so I don't really care which event it is as long as I have a plane to toss into the sky. My lack of comfort with electrics will likely keep me out of 3696 though. Since somebody put Oklahoma right above Texas I'm building some planes to meet 2548/2610 dual rules for scale.
