Sureflite P-39 questions

Post by tommytorino »

Gentlemen

I acquired a used Sureflite P-39 just recently. Can anyone supply me with the recommended control throws, especially the ailerons. The builder used 1 servo in the wing to drive both ailerons via a push/pull cable. At max I’m only getting 10mm of travel on the already small ailerons!

Thank you very much!

Tommy,
The Sureflite P39 does not need much throw on the ailerons. They are very effective.

I just wanted to thank you for your reply. You are the only person whom has had the guts to answer this question. Even sureflite could not ,and does not give you a recommended aileron throw. So do you think perhaps my 10MM just might be ok?

Can you suggest a C of G for the P-39?

Bear in mind I’m not flying this model for combat. So I’m not looking for someone’s “ultra secret setupâ€

Tommy,
I built two of the Sureflite P39s last year. They both flew very well. The build thread is located here:

http://www.rccombat.com/forum/topic.asp ... hichpage=1

If you go into the Scale thread and go back to late 2004 you can see both of the threads.

Here is a photo of mine after finished and flown:
