Camo Spitfire
Just finished an hour ago. No engines or servos but I only had one good hand to build with. Got out of the spint yesterday but need to wear it while I sleep for a week. Then the therapy starts. In a few months the arm should be back to normal.

Re: Camo Spitfire
This should be easier to view. I guess I don't know how to resize very well.

Re: Camo Spitfire
Looks good Bob...I like the camo schemes of the spitfire though I have not decided on how to finish mine. I also am waiting for some extended foam pieces to try 2948 in electric.

Re: Camo Spitfire
I got the splint off the right hand in half the time because I healed quickly. I still am not allowed to lift anything with the right or throw any thing with it. I'm going to rehab to get the range of motion back for a couple more weeks and then I will start working slowly on getting strength back into it. I cut servo pockets in the wings yesterday. Hope to have all servos, Rx, and battery in by the weekend. Does anyone have a magnum xls 25. I need to know the weight with muffler, the mounting hole spacing and the muffler bolt spacing. I plan on getting a couple at the Toledo show. I will throw some FX's in them for now if everything is compatible. The location of the battery and engine in the mount might have to be adjusted if anything differs. I might make it down to visit for your 5 round scale only meet. Good excuse to see my daughter before Christmas. I don't think I will be ready to fly, but I can bring a plane down to look at.

Re: Camo Spitfire
Hope you can make it down, be good to see you again! I can check the weight and mounting dims. on a Magnum 25 when I get home for you if no one else beats me to it.

By the way, if you need roundels you can do what I did for easy and cheap. Do a search for British Air Force Roundels. The wikipedia has nice size images that you can download along with information on which time periods and which type of planes used them. You can re-size the image with a drawing program and then print. I just cut them out and put clear packing tape over them. I did the same same for the tail flash.

Re: Camo Spitfire
Magnum 25 XLS
Muffler Bolt Spacing = 1-3/8"" center to center
Mounting Bolt Spacing = 9/16" center to center
Weight with Muffler = 11.1oz ( from the manual, but it agrees with mine very closely, without prop and spinner nut - stock setup )

Re: Camo Spitfire
Thanks Chris. I have one or two NIB fx engines I plan to save as parts engines. The switch to the XLS will start with scale planes. I like the performance I'm seeing using lower nitro fuel. I now use only 5% for SSC instead of 15% or higher. I've seen 15% work in the 25's as well as 30% in the FX's.
