GWS planes for 3696?

Post by Ed Kettler »

Has anybody done any testing with the GWS molded planes to see if they can be "upgraded" to be strong enough to fly 3696? I know they are white foam, so tape and spars would have to be added to beef up the structure, along with replacing the tail surfaces. BP Hobbies has them in unpainted condition for $29.75 which includes cowl, canopy, hinges, horns, decals and instructions. Seems like a good deal, and you can buy spare wings.

Also, BP has lots of GWS spares that can work with your custom built planes, and the decal sheets are cheap at $4.63.
