Electric Limited B

Post by midair02 »

I was not that fond of the Turnigy 3648-1450. I like to keep it simple. Bolt it on and go. I bought a couple different 35 sized Turnigy SK motors to try out for B sized electric. I still have to try some different props for an open setup. I might be able to keep it real simple with just having one motor mount for all classes.

Here is the motor I am going to try in Lim B:

TGY AerodriveXp 25 SK Series 35-42 1250Kv / 630w

I am planning on using 2 - 2650 mAh 4 cell nanos (same batteries for SSC) in parallel for Lim B at first. Then hopefully scale, if I ever get around to filling out a fleet. I bench ran the motor with a 10x4 for 5 minutes and then checked the RPM. It was just over 14,500 after full bore for 5 minutes. It was pulling 660 watts at the end and 800+ watts on a completely full battery. I put 2,000 mAh back into each pack, so capacity should not be an issue.

I would like to go with the ICE 50, but I don't know if I like pushing the limits. I got an ICE 75 on the way to try it out in the air so I can get the numbers and decide which one to go with.
