Doing some more reading it looks like the 2548 scale class
is just what I was asking about in my search for a class/plane.
The typ of plane/class I was looking for would have...
WWII fighter
Wing span around 48"
.25 size engine
The only drawback I can see for myself is the scale judging
part.
The great thing is this is the type of plane I can keep in the
truck for those week days when I swing by the field and fly for
an hour or so.
One other thing... I see the cruch method of builind mentioned
alot, can someone give me a link that outlines how to do this?
Thanks for the help
Is the 2548 class the one ?

I am sure there are some threads here, but www.georgiacombat.com has a good example, and I bet texascombat.com has some good stuff too.
Here's a good thread with pics from te 2548 forum.

Advent,
Here is a build article on a 2548 P-51: http://www.rccombat.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10654
Further pictures are on my gallery: http://www.rccagallery.com/Gallery/view ... Ed-Kettler
Earlier pictures of the FW-190 are on: http://jwtfamily.org/rcgallery/ekettler
The next generation of P-51 will use an aluminum crutch, which saves about 3-4 ounces.
We're simplifying the judging so that it focuses on the needs of combat, and is not needlessly heavy. We expect to have this version out by year end.
The planes are good flying, robust and look great! We hope you join us, and are patient with us as we wrap up the scale judging process.
