This is just to let anyone who might be interested know that there is a crew of combat flyers in the Raleigh, Apex, Smithfield North Carolina area.

We have 6 - 8 core people, 2 - 3 sometimers, and 2 -3 gonna-dos. We fly on the second Sunday of each month - switching between the Jordan Lake Flying Tigers and Johnston County sites.

We fly SSC, 2610 scale, and Open B. The majority of the planes are scale - half home-cut foam and half JKAerotech's. SSC's came from JKA, Lanier, and SPAD. There are a variety of Open B's. More information at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2243699/tm.htm

We try to get in three flights of each category each time out.

Spectators are great but new targets would be even more welcome. Enquire within.

Club: Grassfield
Time: Every Wednesday Evening 6:00pm
Type: SPAD GNATS with LA .15's and 8x3 MAS Blue Props
There are 12 active pilots with between 6 and 10 showing up every Wednesday. We fly 4 oz tanks which result in 10+ minute rounds and flagging tape so we have streamers at the end. No scoring just allot of trash talk on the line. After Dark and before the Minnesota State Bird shows up there is some night flying.
Five of us fly all winter on the weekends. Coroplas does get a little brittle below 30 degrees though!

Combat is primarily flown on Saturdays usually anywhere from 11am to 7 or 8pm although this summer we've been taking it pretty easy and staying out of the heat [8D].
For the most part what we fly is Limited B and what amounts to SpecB.

We are truly fling what you bring as long as it's safe and not over a .47cid engine.

We have a nice field near Lima Ohio. Our club has about 70 members and I fly all classes of combat. I would love to practice with anyone that would like to contact me. Email me at boiler1@wcoil.com or rc_combat_geezer@yahoo.com I hope that if my members see some combat, we could generate interest among some of the more competitive types. Our club home page is http://www.larksclub.homestead.com/ We will hold our first SSC combat on June 10, 2006 and the Guys in Bryan Oh will hold an open b/limited b meet on June 11. They are about 1 1/2 hours north of us. Our field address is 7651 Elida Rd, Delphos OH 45833
