Combat Locations

Post by Ed Kettler »

The purpose of this thread is to document known locations for all types of RC combat, not just RCCA events. Please provide the following information:

Location (city, state)
Contact (name, phone, email)
Club (if applicable)
Days/times combat flown
Types of combat flown
Comments

Information gathered from this thread will be consolidated and published on the RCCA site to help folks find other combat pilots in their areas.

Thanks!

There are also 3 or 4 guys in Newark, Ohio flying SSC at the C.O.R.K.S club. I don't think they'll be on here to post so I posted it for them.

New Auburn, WI
Doug Goldman, wingnut458(at)msn(dot)com
Wing Nut Acres
Thursdays, 5pm till dark
Mostly Limited B

Usual group is made up of 4 to 6 guys. We all fly the same basic model, 10x4 MAS props, 60" wings, stock .25 engines. Very informal, no scores kept. This allows the host (me) to win pretty much every week.

Two formal events held this season, with one more planned.

Lenox Township, MI (about 45 minutes NE of Detroit)
Radio Control Club of Detroit field, in vicinity of 26 Mile Road and North Avenue (field on 27 Mile, W or Werderman)
At least two contests per year, covering Open B, SSC, 2610, and 2548 classes, possibly some Limited B too.
No regularly-scheduled "practice" flying but we can meet at the field for practice, trim flights, etc. When we practice, it's usually SSC or Limited B type planes.
RCCA members Scott and Brian Gilkey, Don Veres II, Keith Jones, and Jay Lawless are active RCCD combat fliers.
