Has anyone replaced the OS 25 muffler bolts with button head screws yet?
I know we have done it with the 15's.
Same issue different engine.

Victor,
You don't want button head screws. They have HALF the torque capacity of socket head cap screws. Socket head cap screws are available by the hundred from McMasterCarr online. Fabulous catalog. They have a thousand things you need. Check it out.
I have a zillion very hard, strong muffler screws for OS and I'll happily give you some next time I see you. Another good reason to come to the July EBRC event.

I have replaced the JIS screws with DuBro labeled 3mm X 25mm Allen heads
and they fit just fine and are easier to tighten, the only drawback is
that the "stock" JIS screw will fail before the aluminum lug on the motor
fails so when you whack the muffler real hard you only lose the screws.
With the Allen head screws you rip the lug right off the side of the motor
or muffler. I have JB welded the lugs back together, but it is never the same.
