Other Winter activities

It may be a little cold for combat but there are other things to talk about.

It is a perfect match with my golf cart, and my pickup truck. Guess I have the whole hot wheels collection now.

Ya know, that boat looks a bit like an old broom I have. The head's been replaced about 6 times and the handle probably two or three, but it's been a great broom for all these years

Is there actually any of the original boat lurking in there somewhere :?:

not much, if you look inside the gray stringers are mostly whats left of the original. its a 68 chris craft and from what I've read they were originally designed with a 10 year life expectancy. The good new is Aarons airplane building skills seem better suited to the heavy wood boat construction...

No, i think I have the complete "Hot Wheels" set now. The cobra wont get the traditional flames, something about the body style just rejects my attempts to personalize it. I have threatened to to put flames on the wood boat a few times but they were the kind you make with thinner and a match...

Now that's funny right there...

Let's not burn it now. I think we are through the BS part of it.

Sean seeing your Buggy Project reminded me of the Show car I built in 1990. It was a feature car in Hot VWs Magazine in November of 1990. I was going to scan some pics to share but that will have to wait I looked at the crate of Photos and did not want to give my wife the impression I was going to start another project right now..(scanning old photos for her)

Its not a manx, its a berrian nostalgia made near here in berrian springs michigan. Its all tube chassis and fiberglass, very light weight and everything is custom. 66x102mm 914 motor, fuel injected, 4.88 all aftermarket geared bus trans, aluminum front beam... I built it to play in the dunes but like most of my projects I get carried away and they inch closer to show car status than I like. There are lots of pics on my photobucket site of the build if you are in the mood to stroll through them I will post up a link.

http://s133.photobucket.com/albums/q70/Bigblockbandit/

There are albums on that for most of the projects I get into.

AAron and I got a late start this winter on the boat project and have been pushin hard to make progress by the end of march. just got it in stain last night and hope to start putting ont he varnish tonight. End of march is usually the end of boat working season and then I should have a couple weeks to start rebuilding planes before baseball starts. I think we are 5 years into this project as of this coming summer. I really need another hobby... the link below is the progress the last 3 winters of putting it back together.
