Flat Bat firewalls

Post by Hat Trick »

I've got my router working finally and managed to make firewalls for flat bats. These are made from HDPE. You cut off the front of the bat and the firewall slips inside and has a lip to keep it from going in to far. Attach with small screws. Guaranteed never to break!

I've also got firewalls for round bats and spacers to keep round bats from crushing. The spacers fit inside the bat and give it a ton of strength. I use one in front of and behind the radio gear.

I can deliver at Paris if your want any!

I was just reading through a few threads to see what interesting ideas were in here, and this one caught my eye. Hat, did you ever get a picture?[?] After investigating CO2 Laser cutters and Abrasive-jet water cutters I decided a router would be much easier (though the others would definitley be more fun!).

We've got a bunch of high torque stepper motors saved from dot-matrix printers and some slightly smaller brand new motors. I just need to come up with a design (probably similar to our bow's structure).

Hat, what kind of cutting motor are you using?

Never did get a picture. Mine uses a trim tool router. Almost any of handheld routers work pretty well. Some are easier to attach the mecahnics than others!
