Anyone built a 2548 Hellcat?

Post by montague »

Does anyone have a 2548 Hellcat? A pointer to a kit would be even great. There's a guy here who wants to fly 2548 if there's a Hellcat. I don't have time to design one myself, so I'm looking for a design I can pass on.

Demon built one for 2610 that was +10%, which would have wings 46+", which would be good.

Maybe Cash can chime in on who made the one he used to have.

I think it was Ziggs originals. I still have it, as it flew okay, but I think there was a bit too much dihedral in the panels. It was nerver squirrely, or snap-happy, but it never "grooved" either. of course, I might be picky, too.

Kirk I was looking for hellcat pics. DrewJet cut me some foam based on the turbo cad drawings in the 2548 forum. He built one that looked good. I just got around to attempting my first one. With a little coaxing I bet he could be convinced to cut some more. He was more that fair about what I reimbursed him for his time and materials

Kirk,

I have a 2548 Hellcat fuselage and wing already shaped but that was as far as I got. No intentions of finishing it as Walker and I have swapped over to 3696 electric. Any intrest?

I take that back. I still have the fuselage but turned the wing into a 3696 wing for a D0-335.

Thanks for the info, but I'll pass on yours at the moment.

I'm not really looking for me, I'm looking for a guy in my club who shows some interest, but not a lot of motivation. I think he'd try it if there were planes more easily available than there are.

Kirk I got the first hell cat in the air and will wring it out at Bushwacked. I came in at 56oz. I cant get the RPMs up over 13,900 set up with the stock muffler and a 10X4 prop. It still turns and rolls similar to other 2548 planes. I think It would loop and turn tighter with a few more RPMs. If your buddy is interested I would drop Drewjet a line.
