SSC in Limited B

Post by Fred420 »

My question is simple [:p]

I can run my SSC's in B if/and when I tear up my 3 B's. Do I have to stay at the 17,500 or can I spin my Magnum to 19,500? Last year I did not ask and just wound them out. With the Nat's coming up in 2 weeks, I thought I would ask before I got in trouble [8D]

SSC planes that meet ALL SSC requirements can fly in limited B. You can turn a MAS 8x3 at 17500 or less. The other option is to meet all limited B requirements which is 3.25# minimum weight and a MAS 10x4 turning at 14500 or less.

I believe you could run them in open b at any rpm you could obtain. that might even be an interesting experiment after watching the Russian 15 sized planes compete in the combat event we attended. they did much better than I expected and if you could get that much rpm out of the magnum it might not be the slowest thing in the air either.

Open B you can run any RPM you want (within MFG Specs) Limited B it must meet the 17,500 requirement of SSC.
