Setting up an electric RPM's to high?

Post by combatgoblin »

I'm using a sk3530-1100,40 amp spc and a 6s 2200mah pak.
With the sub trim and end point adjustment at it's lowest it still is turning around 18200.
Does anybody know how to get it lower?

Don The SK motors are not always true to the Spec KV so you might want to check that or try a different motor. I use the 1400KV Sks and had a couple that were not usable because of KV problems.

I had to set the airplane in helicopter mode on one of my setups with good batteries or I go over like you mention.
Using helicopter mode, I have a 5 fully adjustable throttle curve. I set the curve like this:
0,10,20,30, ??
With the last one set to the 17,500 RPM.

Each ESC is different and they are not created equally. I use the cheap 50/60A hobbyking SS version.

If you have an ESC that allows you to calibrate throttle endpoints, make sure you calibrate the endpoints FIRST using 100% throttle or getting down to 17,500 will be even harder.

Forgot about the end point problem.. With the castle ESCs Full throttle was only about 70% so getting down to 17.5k was an issue.

try adjusting the subtrim if your radio has that feature. Thats what i had to do with a Hitec eclipse 7.
