Battle Over Brenham IV

Post by Quickdraw »

The Battle Over Brenham IV is in the books and proved to be an exciting weekend. Thanks for Bob Star for stepping in to the CD duties. Thanks to all the traveling pilots and members of the Brenham R/C Airplane club. A reporter Brenham Banner-Press paid us a visit on Saturday and we are expecting an article in the paper. AMA District 8 VP Lawence Harvill paid us a visit and stayed for most the the action on Sunday.

Saturday-SSC/ The 19th started at a cool 45 degrees and constant wind. The forecast for the wind was up to 15 mph. That prediction was 10 mph too low and the wind never let up. Flying SSC was a challenge. The 9 pilots, including 2 combat newbies, were up to the challenge. We flew 4 rounds with 2 heats and 6 rounds all up.

Thanks David for another good Brenham meet. Always fun to fly at a field with so much local support even with the eratic engine runs I had during SSC. Congrats on your overwhelming win in SSC and giving all of us a good flying lesson. Tough competition both days and koodoos to the newbies. See you in a couple weeks in Sherman.
