The Tundra Terror is the books. Saturday morning when I pulled into the field it was still raining a bit. It cleared up by the time contestants started to roll in. With the wind, the grass dried up mostly and we started with crepe. We got a couple rounds of SSC in and then we felt a few rain drops, followed by a down pour. Everyone took shelter and had an early lunch while we waited for the rain to stop. We used forestry tape for awhile until the grass dried off again. The winds blowing over 20 mph really helped in that regard. We got all 6 rounds of SSC in and then moved onto Limited B. Having the larger engines helped with struggles of the wind. After we got all 6 rounds in, we headed to Mackinaws for supper. Sunday morning we flew 6 rounds of GNAT. The winds were more reasonable and the rain left us alone so we were finished before noon.
