Master Airscrew Scimitar S2 9 X 4 Prop

Post by Yankee Samurai »

Did some test flying yesterday. Stock OS FX with an UltraTrust muffler, Sig Championship 15% fuel, Thunderbolt glow plug, MA series 2 prop 17,300 RPM. Changed to the new MA Scimitar S2 9 X 4 18,500 static. An increase of 1,200 RPM. It flew great.

Is this a new version of the Scimitar prop? I tried the scimitar several years ago and thought it was a real dog, maybe they have reshaped it?

Scott, They were just advertised last month. I'm shocked I got them so soon. They are a new series that include a lot of different sizes. I talked with MA about the time they came out with the blue 8 X 3, and told me they would look into it. This is the first time they offer a 9 X 4. I tried a Scimitar 9 X 5 when they first came out and they were a dog.

My local hobby shop got them in two weeks.

That's a lot of increase for a design change. What did they do, depitch them even more?
