Slam -- check out this site for slope soaring sites in Florida. You don't need mountains, there are many sites now that are closed landfills! http://www.slopeflyer.com/soaring/florida/

I have a huge landfill a few miles north which could potentially make a great slope site but part of it is still active and so they won't let fliers near the place! About 8 or 9 years ago we just about had an agreement with the management company but it fell through because of city politics! [V]

2010 Big Slope combat event June 26&27
If you have any interest in slope combat the BIG event is coming up June 26 & 27 at Williams peak near Heeney, CO.
This event is always great. Lots of participants (12 signed up and paid in March for a June event) and beautiful scenery. Bring goggles and windbreakers (and beer) as the wind up there gets to be pretty intense. Check out the Super 77th web site for nice videos and info. This year there is an entry fee of $5. Even is you don't have a slope combat plane this is a beautiful area and the non-stop flying is a blast to watch. The site is 2 hours from Denver including the last 1/2 hour 3 mile drive up some gnarly 4wd roads, but it is well worth it.
