I have read the rules for both of these classes and I am still having a difficult time understanding the difference other than the visual accuracy / weight of the aircraft.
I have 3 2610 planes I would love to use for 2548.
2610 has stock 25FX w/10x4 Prop.
What do I need to do to be able to uese them in 2548?

2548 / 2610 Difference?
Moderator: hbartel
To fly in 2548:

Plane must be on the "2548 Approved" list

Must weigh at least 3 1/4 pounds

wingspan must be 48"

Engine must be .25 cu in with a stock muffler (ie no Mousse cans)

prop must be MA 10 x 4 or APC 10 x 3

Engine must tach on the ground at 14,500 or less

Did I miss any?
None of these restrictions apply to 2610. But there is a .26 engine size limit and a 3 1/2 pound MAX weight.
What planes do you have? - there are very few where the same example can meet the criteria for both classes.

The wingspan in 2548 may not exceed 48" for a single engine fighter. It can be less.
2610 allows +/-10% measurement variation. 2548 is not defined in percentage variation, but subjectively.

I have 3 Spad "Corostangs" (P-51D) that I built from white Coroplast.
The wings and fuselage are white with USAF Stars and European Invasion Stripes on the wings. No markings on Fuselages.
40" wingspan 36" fuse. Engine is 25fx stock with 10x4 props.
I would have to incease the weight by using full size servos and batteries.
I have 3 view drawings and they look very close.
Do I need any other "markings"?
If you can instruct me how to post a photo I will post a photo of one of them.
Thanks!
