New corsair

Post by draftman1 »

Here is a link to my latest plane. its a full coro corsair. I have seen the coro/ foam version and I didnt like it so I came up with my own. It was desined for open B but it qualifies for 2458 also, except for the header, I will maiden it saturday.

The maiden went good. I need to tweek the plane a little. I might also need to make a flatter wing, less VEE to it. it will make a great 2458 plane. it was plenty fast with a pipe on it and it will be fast enough for 2458 with the stock mufler. Next is an _____ scale SSC plane. im not letting this one out yet. I hope to be there at the next Palomar event with it.

When you paint it, you definitely want a contrasting color on the underside of the wing. Roid was flying all over Navy Blue Corsairs at LSN and it was very hard to figure out orientation. If you went to the early war 3 tone, that has medium blue outer panels and light gray/white center section. Of course, you can do anything you want with the lower wings to make them visible (safety markings)

Best of luck and happy new years!

Thanks Ed, yeah I will do something with the colors. I loose orientation if I dont have two very contrasting colors. that was the first model. The wing broke on a hard landing so I am building a new one, slightly less VEE to it. Happy new year!
