It would work, but I'd be wary because of it's small shaft.

I use this one for my speed 400 wings, on 3 cells and 5x5

On 2 cells, I'd go for this one...

The 28mm motors are only a hair larger in diamter than a standard sp400, adn will generally fit into the same mounts. Plus you get a beefier shaft.

Brian converted our Zagis to brushless with several different configs. All the way from equivalent performance to the S400 but with much better duration, up to smokin' performance and still better duration. Hopefully he sees this thread and responds....I don't know the specifics. So bascially this was a useless post, sorry, other than to say that the brushless zagi was a much nicer performer than the S400 version, in every config he tried!

My zagis were pretty big extremes of eachother. I had one to compete with a brushed version, which i flew on 2s with a 6x4 at about 12 amps. On the other hand i had another zagi that i flew on 5s an 60 amps, which was a screamer.

To me though, you can't beat a nice middle of the road zagi, which i would say is something like a 2200 kv motor on 3s with a 6x4 at about 30 amps.

If you are set on 2s, then i would go with one of these motors, probably the second one

That on a 6x4 on 2s would be comparable to a stock zagi, or a 7x5 to juice it up. Or you can move to 3s later on for a real upgrade. Just my opinion

thanks guys. I wanted to use 2 cell packs because i have about 5 or 6 of them.I have other planes that share batteries and i wanted to use something that would work with what i have.i can put two of them together for a 4 cell pack for my bigger stuff, but three cells are too big for some and to small for others.Hope that makes sense to you

Put two of them together in series and use the same motor i recommended on a 5.7x3, now THAT would be fun
