3D CAD model of an SSC engine?

Post by gsjames »

Has anyone got a 3D CAD model of any of the engines commonly used in SSC that they would be willing to share? I'm working on a CAD model of the i.c. Cobra and also a "Battle Falcon". A 3D CAD model of the Magnum .15 XLS or the OS LA .15 would be very useful. Thanks.

What type of file format are you looking for?

I can read most any of the standard 2-d and 3-D CAD interchange formats. .SAT is the best for 3D I think, but also ,step, .stl, .dwg, .dxf, .igs, , srk, .cu, .ac, etc. I can also read older proprietary TurboCAD/DesignCAD and SolidWorks formats as long as they are an older version of the format. Thanks.

.dxf format is more universal, almost all cad programs read it. :D

Mostly just goofin' around. I get really bored sitting in these hotel rooms when I'm on a trip.

I like to have the bolt hole pattern...

I think there is a engine in the workshop... grab it, scale it, get the bolt pattern right..

I'm not sure if we have an engine in the Mako drawing or not....hmmm..

Chris Gunter sent me a copy of his Magnum .15 XLS. Once we figured out the scale factor (his said his CAD works in feet, mine in inches or millimeters) I adjusted the scale and all is good. Thanks!
