Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
I just bought some Mags and the first order of business is to remove stock needle valve, plug the hole and install a RNV.
Does anyone have a part number for the plug and perhaps a link where to buy?

Dane I have not tried this but Bob L told me to use a glow plug as the plug for the needle valve.

That's right. I use a dremel to cut off the tip of a old plug and install it with the washer.

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
Something else you might do is put a drop of lock tight on the screw that hold the throttle barrel in place. If you run a regular tank you need to get the restrictors for the intake, if you run a bladder, you don't need them as the epa does the job.

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
Thanks Chris! Thats what I needed.
Just to clarify, I'm not too worried about breakage or leakage, .....its just that Mag needles are famous for being non compatible with bladders which is all I run.
I install OS needles on all my engines.

That part is for the 25, not the 15.

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
That is the part I have in hand and have been using on all of my Magnum 15XLS engines. Several parts for the 15 are interchangeable with the 25's. In some cases, the parts are only available for one engine or the other. Thanks for pointing that out, Bob, in case this was an incompatible part, but these fit both engines.boiler wrote:That part is for the 25, not the 15.

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
Which Remote Needle Valve is good to use?
One that won't leak or need a piece of silicone tube on it (or is there such a beast?)

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
For a rock solid runs and no leaks use the needle valve off of the La .15.
I cut the rnv off of the backplate on every one I own so I have lots of spares.
There is another needle valve from OS that some guys use with little trouble however I'm not a fan.......seems like it is from a OS .10

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
After trying several makes and models, here is the one I prefer. It is small and light while no evidence of leaking or slipping, from what I can tell thus far. It is light enough to hang freely on your tubing, or you can mount it on a thin L-bracket type arrangement made out of something like a soda can.

Re: Mag .15 XLS Needle Valve Plug
The OS needle for the .10 is my choice. I'll use the LA needle cut from the backplate but it's harder to mount. The .10 needle is coarser than the LA.15 needle but I use a clunk instead of the bladder and it works just fine. AND...When you find something that works, don't screw with it.
